A unique, classical wine from Tokaji, Dry Szamorodni is made from bunches of late harvest and partly botrytized grapes. The special sherry-like character of this wine comes from the biological aging under "flor", a film of yeast, in barrels called "szerednyei" made from Zemplen oak. Expect bright zippy acidity, with notes of nuts, dried apricots and rancio character; it is best enjoyed with olives, cured meats, nuts and cheese.
