Ichiro's second distillery, Chichibu II, opened in 2019 and is just starting to release its first single malt whiskies. This first release is 4-5 years of age, and each year going forward, this release will have an additional year of ageing. Created in the traditional Chichibu style of luscious fruitiness, with a rich and full-bodied flavour profile, prevalent in whiskies created with direct fire pot stills. Expect luscious honeyed aromas, caramel, and pear, along with peaty notes mingled with tropical fruits. The tropical fruits and honey continue through the palate with pleasant malt emerging through the creamy texture, sprinkled with spices.
