This very rare and precious marriage of single malts is composed of Chichibu and Hanyu single malts of various ages. Ichiro's grandfather owned Hanyu distillery, and Ichiro inherited the leftover casks of 30+ years when Hanyu closed in 2000. Rich, complex aromas of apricots, caramelized apples, cinnamon, and cloves mingle with peat. A green vegetal spice flavour profile comes through from the Mizunara influence, along with cooked ripe fruits, figs, and dates. Spice and roasted peach play through in the pleasant, dry finish.
