San Filippo was founded in 1972 by proprietor Roberto Giannelli and is home to some of the best boutique Brunello di Montalcino. The estate has approximately 10 hectares of vines planted on mostly clay soil with areas of marl and limestone. As a result, his Brunello expresses structure and intensity common to the eastern corner of the appellation. Le Lucére is produced from the estate's oldest vines and is one of four great, single vineyards of the San Filippo estate.
